The Rapids learned some news yesterday in regards to their quest toward winning the nation's oldest sports tournament.
The Rapids knew already that their next opponent would be Seattle Sounders FC in another play-in match for the 2009 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup..
Yesterday a coin flip was held to decide which of the 2 clubs would host the next match. Winner = Seattle.
The Rapids will travel out to the Pacific Northwest at the end of this month for this match, which Seattle will host on a date and time still TBA. Word on the street is also that the match will be held at a venue other than Seattle's home ground of Qwest Field.

The Rapids never seem to catch a break when a coin flip is involved. When was the last time we got to host a US Open Cup match? Seems like a long time ago. You'd think they would favor the Rapids hosting since they have their own home venue.
Here's hoping Seattle doesn't pull another 5-1 upset in this event.
